About Tom I'm a graduate student in the Earth and Space Sciences (ESS) Department and the Astrobiology Program at the University of Washington. My research interests include mass extinctions, paleontology, and geochemistry, but I enjoy almost any field work, something I consider an essential component of any geologist's training. Outside of work I spend my free time hiking, learning photography, and playing basketball.
